Given the increased service, as part of the RER project Metrolinx has provided for new noise walls and sound mitigation after the fourth track is added. But not all parts of the track have approved funding for noise walls.
Metrolinx has now committed to seek additional funding to create a “seamless” mitigation system - but until they get additional money from the Province, it’s unclear how they’ll afford it.
